Francis the Squirrel
Francis was found in July 2025,
after a bad storm knocked his nest to the ground in our front yard.
His mama never came back.He was about four weeks old —
barely any fur, eyes still closed,
all alone in the world. Our family took him in. We bottle-fed him every two hours, helped him potty, cuddled him, and watched him grow.At twelve and a half weeks, we
soft-released him in our backyard,
under the walnut tree.He stayed in his enclosure for a couple
of weeks, exploring his new world at his
own pace — and then one day,
he ran straight up the walnut tree.Francis is a free squirrel now.
He lives wild and visits us
almost every day, rain or shine.
